- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

3. Prohibited Conduct
You may not use Lattice to:
- Post false, misleading, or fraudulent opportunities (fake jobs, scam listings)
- Impersonate another person, organization, professor, or Lattice admin
- Harass, threaten, or intimidate other users
- Collect personal information from other users without their consent
- Scrape, crawl, or automated-access any part of the platform
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, hack, or compromise the platform's security
- Post content that is discriminatory on the basis of race, gender, religion, disability, national origin, or sexual orientation
- Send spam, unsolicited messages, or repetitive irrelevant communications
- Use the platform for any purpose that violates applicable law
- Circumvent rate limits, feature gates, or access controls
4. Opportunity Posting Rules
When posting an opportunity on Lattice, you agree to:
- Accurately describe the role, time commitment, compensation (if any), and skills required
- Clearly disclose whether the position is paid, unpaid, for course credit, or a fellowship
- Not post the same opportunity more than once simultaneously
- Respond to applicants within a reasonable timeframe (we recommend 2 weeks)
- Update or close postings when positions are filled
- Not require personal financial contributions, purchases, or fees from applicants
- Not advertise multi-level marketing, pyramid schemes, or commission-only arrangements without clear disclosure
Opportunity types
- Research — faculty-posted lab and academic research positions
- Team / Club Openings — student organizations and club recruitment
- Collaborate — student-to-student project collaboration requests
Professor posting requirements
Professors can post research positions only when their university holds an active Lattice license.
5. Application Materials
- Application materials (cover notes, resume, answers to questions) are transmitted securely to the opportunity poster.
- Opportunity posters agree to use application materials only for evaluating candidates for the specific posted role.
- Posters may not redistribute, resell, or aggregate application materials.
- Students retain ownership of their submitted materials.
- Lattice stores application materials for up to 2 years after the application closes, then deletes them.
6. AI-Assisted Screening
Opportunity posters may opt in to AI-assisted screening on a per-post basis. When enabled, submitted applications are processed by an AI model to generate a relevance score for the poster. Applicants are shown a clear disclosure notice before submitting to any AI-screened post. AI screening is available across all post types (Research, Team Roles, and Collaborate).
Monthly usage limits
AI screening usage is subject to monthly limits based on subscription plan:
- Professors — 5 screenings/month (Institutional), 15 screenings/month (Premium)
- Students — 2 screenings/month (Free), 6 screenings/month (Premium)
- Teams & Organizations — 3 screenings/month (Free), 9 screenings/month (Pro/Elite)
When the monthly quota is exhausted, applications are accepted normally without AI scoring until the quota resets on the 1st of the following month. Quota exhaustion never blocks a submission.
For applicants
- You will be notified before submitting if the opportunity has AI screening enabled
- Your written responses, resume text, major, skills, and (if enabled) GPA may be sent to Anthropic's Claude API solely to generate a relevance score for the poster
- The AI score is a triage tool only — it does not make hiring or rejection decisions. All decisions remain with the human poster
- The AI score and summary are visible only to the poster, never to you as the applicant
- If AI screening is unavailable or quota is exhausted, your application is still submitted normally
- You may not attempt to game, manipulate, or reverse-engineer the AI scoring system
For opportunity posters
- AI screening is off by default — you must explicitly enable it per post
- You may disable AI screening on any post at any time via post settings
- AI scores are a triage aid — not a substitute for reviewing application materials yourself
- You must not use the AI score as the sole basis for rejecting an applicant
- You must not share AI scores or summaries with third parties outside the platform
- AI scores do not guarantee fitness for a position, academic ability, or any other qualification
7. Messaging Rules
- Use messages only for legitimate professional communication related to opportunities or collaboration.
- Do not send unsolicited bulk messages, spam, or irrelevant solicitations.
- Do not use messages to solicit money, personal information, or off-platform contact for non-professional purposes.
- Do not send harassing, threatening, discriminatory, or sexually explicit messages.
- Messages may be reviewed by our moderation team in response to a report.
8. Platform Moderation
Lattice uses a combination of automated and manual moderation:
- Posts or users with 3 or more valid reports may be automatically hidden pending review.
- Our moderation team reviews reported content and takes action within 3 business days.
- Actions range from a warning to permanent suspension depending on severity.
- If your content or account is actioned, you will be notified via email.
- You may appeal moderation decisions by emailing legal@joinlattice.app.
9. Payments & Billing
- All payments are processed by Stripe. Lattice does not store card data.
- Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
- Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. Contact legal@joinlattice.app within 7 days of a charge.
- Posting credits are non-refundable once used.
- In development mode, no real charges are made. Dev-mode transactions are not real.
